Cosimo Lacirignola has worked on issues of Mediterranean agriculture, food security and rural development for over 30 years. He is an agricultural economist and graduate of the University of Bologna. After having been an official of the European Commission, he became administrator at the CIHEAM Headquarters from 1983 to 1987 and became head of the CIHEAM-Bari in 1987. Cosimo Lacirignola has also acted as advisor for international relations to the Ministers of Agriculture of three different Italian governments...

Coastal Development and vulnerable group empowerment: Inauguration of a multi-purpose small-scale fishery centre in Zarzis (24-25 of May 2016, Tunisia)
The new facility hosts a museum dedicated to fishing, a meeting room for training and a restaurant serving typical local produce and fish from the region. The centre has been built in the context of project NEMO aiming to strengthen cross-border socio-economic development in the coastal communities of Libya, Tunisia and Egypt by valorising and relaunching the fishing sector.
